Pogopalooza Pogo Stick Competition

By DARREN ALFF on

Today I attended the qualifying rounds of the Pogopalooza Pogo Stick competition. The event was held at the Redstone shopping center, just across the street from my condo in Park City, Utah. According to the paperwork I was handed while at the event, “Pogopalooza is the annual gathering of the best extreme pogo athletes in the world and the largest exposition of the newest extreme sport.” While I was there, the pogo athletes  took part in five unique competitions: Big Air, Most Jumpers Per Minute, Technical, Least Jumps Per Minute, and a High Jump Competition.

In the photo above, the athlete is in the middle of performing a double backflip.

The photo above shows the high-jump bar. The athletes jumped off the van in other competitions.

The guy above ended up breaking the world record for the least number of jumps in a minute – 40

I can do this. Get me a pogo stick and next year I’ll break a world record!
