DARREN ALFF
April 4, 2012

Mark Davidson and I hiked up to the entrance of the Ontario Silver Mine here in Park City found a couple old buildings filled with core samples from the mine. I even found one that looks like it has silver in it. We also found piles and piles of rat shit.

Bridge Crossing
DARREN ALFF
November 2, 2011

I rode the bus into town today and then slowly cycled my way home, stopping to do some errands and window shopping along the way. This long wooden bridge in the area directly across from the Canyons ski resort is one of my favorite areas to bike through in all of Park City. It was freezing cold on the bike ride, but I loved it because there was no one on the trails. I gotta get a few more rides like this in before the snow totally covers up all of the cycling paths.

Bryan Beresford Rides Park City
DARREN ALFF
August 7, 2011

For the past four days I’ve had one of my BicycleTouringPro.com readers, Bryan Bereford (20), staying with me in Park City. While in town, I took Bryan on several bikes rides in the area – the highlights of which were a short stint on the famous Mid-Mountain trail and a 30-mile round-trip ride out to the East Canyon Reservoir. Before arriving in Park City, Bryan rode his bike from New York to Colorado, where he then hopped in a car and drove to Park City, where he stayed with me for four days, and then jumped on an plane back to New York.

Marcia And Rich Drop In
DARREN ALFF
June 17, 2011

My good friend, Rich Palatino, surprised his girlfriend, Marcia Steger, by hitchhiking from Jackson, Wyoming to the Salt Lake City airport and meeting her at the baggage claim (she wasn’t expecting him to be there). Rich and Marcia then drove from the airport back to Rich’s current home-base: a climber’s cabin in the Grand Tetons National Park. On their way back to Jackson, however, Rich and Marcia made a short stop in Park City and I hung out with the two for about an hour as Rich and I gave Marcia a quick tour of the city and went out for a speedy Mexican lunch. Rich and Marcia are going to be in the Grand Tetons until Wednesday, at which time they will drive back to Salt Lake City and then return to their homes on the East Coast.

Camping In Paris... Idaho
DARREN ALFF
June 12, 2011

This weekend I went camping with my friends Josh and Kristen Miller. It was a last-minute camping trip, but it came together quite nicely. I drove my motorcycle down to Salt Lake City on Friday afternoon and after Kristen got home from work we all jumped in the car and drove for about 3 hours, through the rain and cold, to Paris Springs Campground, just outside of Paris, Idaho.

Riding Bicycles With Marissa In Park City
DARREN ALFF
June 6, 2011
While Marissa was in town, I decided to take her on a short 10-mile bike ride from downtown Park City to the newer side of the city known as Kimball Junction. Along the way, I shot footage with my GoPro video camera and later edited the footage together so as to produce this short video. Enjoy!
