My little sister, Marissa, came to visit me in Park City this past week. It was her first time visiting me since I moved to Park City more than five years ago, so I had a lot I wanted to show her.

A Summary Of My Travels In Peru

After 5 months in Peru, I thought it would be a good idea to sit down and talk about some of the most memorable parts my trip. I do this more for myself than anything else, but if you are interested in my travels through Peru, then this video does a good job of hitting on some of the major highlights.

Tom & Christi, Camarillo & A Boatload Of Babies

camarillo california library and farm fields

After returning from my 5-month trip through Peru, I spent a little over a week in my hometown of Camarillo, California before flying back to my (current) home in Park City, Utah. During my time in Camarillo, I spent some time with my aunt and uncle; went on a walk into the orchards behind the Camarillo library (image above); saw two movies (Soul Surfer (sucked) and Hanna (a German fairy tale film – I liked it!));  crashed a party at the Miller house; and met up with my friends Travis and Kelli Miller (and their new baby, Mac), Jason and Danielle June (and their new baby Caden), and Sharon and Wesley Cook (and their new baby Evan). Now I am back in Park City and (for the moment at least )I’m glad to be home.

Goodbye Peru - My Last Day In Lima

the panamerican highway running along the coast through lima peru

My last day in Peru was a long one. I took a night bus from Chiclayo and arrived in Lima around 7 AM on the morning of April 21st. My flight wasn’t until 11:50 PM that night, so I had more than 16 hours to kill until I could board my flight and travel back to my parents’ home in Southern California.

BikeRadar.com - Website Of The Week

Bicycle Touring Pro featured on BikeRadar.com

A popular cycling website called BikeRadar.com recently interviewed me about my website at BicycleTouringPro.com and my life as a long-distance bicycle traveler. The resulting article was just released and I think it’s a nice little summary of what I’ve been up to over the past couple years. Check it out at BikeRadar.com!

Parting Shots From Cusco, Peru

I can’t believe I’ve been in Cusco, Peru for nearly a month now. But I have been here that long… and now it is time for me to leave. Tomorrow I leave my temporary home here in Cusco, Peru and travel for 12+ hours via bus to the jungle town of Puerto Maldonado. I don’t know what I’m going to do there, where I am going to stay, or whether I will be able to access the Internet from my new location… but I am really looking forward to a change of scenery.

Alta Ski Resort - Opening Day

Yesterday I went skiing at Alta with my good friend Josh Miller. It was opening day and because I’m leaving for Peru in less than two weeks, it was my one and only chance to go skiing this winter. In the end, it was a great day. I had a lot of fun and the skiing was fantastic.

I’m planning to produce a number of videos about my upcoming trip to Peru, so I thought it would be fun to use some of my drawings as the titles for these future videos. Can you see where this is going?

Little Rotten Princess

This image was inspired by the young girl with the red hair in my 2010 Halloween post. I’m sure the actual girl is very nice, but I tried to draw her here as an evil queen in training.

3 Years Of Bicycle Touring Pro

What bicycletouringpro.com looked like on October 29, 2010

On Wednesday my website at www.bicycletouringpro.com turned three years old.

I’ve been working incredibly hard on this website over the past few years, but it’s just now getting to the point where my hard work is paying off. You can read about some of things I’ve done with the site over the last three years by reading this post.

What I’m most proud of, however, is that in three year’s time I’ve been able to help hundreds of people conduct their own bicycle touring adventures and for the past seven months at least, Bicycle Touring Pro has been paying for the mortgage on my condo in Park City.

My goal for this site in the future is to continue helping other people and to have the site paying for my entire lifestyle by this time next year.
