I was supposed to go camping this weekend with my friends Josh and Kristen Miller, but by Thursday night that plan had fizzled. This change of plans, however, freed me up to attend the Oktoberfest celebration taking place at Snowbird (ski resort).

Early this morning I jumped on my motorcycle and traveled for a little over an hour, up and over Deer Valley, past Brighton and Solitude ski resorts, and down to the bottom of Big Cottonwood Canyon. Once there, I drove a short distance to Josh and Kristen’s apartment complex in Murray. Then the three of us jumped in Josh’s car and together we drove up to the top of Little Cottonwood Canyon where the Oktoberfest celebrations were taking place.

This summer I spent 1.5 months cycling around Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. During the middle of my tour, I stopped to stay with a German family living about an hour away from the city of Hannover in Northern Germany. The area newspaper came to interview me about my experiences in Europe and to ask about my impressions of Germany.
