A few weeks ago I sent a CD filled with some of my favorite instrumental songs to “my second mom” in Germany. I’ve been to Germany twice in recent years and stayed there for extended periods of time with the Rybicki family. Unfortunately, neither Mr. or Mrs. Rybicki speak English (and my German/Polish sucks), so I haven’t had a whole lot of dialogue with the pair. That’s why I thought it would be fun to mail them a CD filled with some of the instrumental music that I like. I figured that with the music at least, they could listen to it, totally understand it (because it doesn’t contain any words), and I could share a little bit about myself with the Rybickis in the process.

This summer I spent 1.5 months cycling around Germany, Poland and the Czech Republic. During the middle of my tour, I stopped to stay with a German family living about an hour away from the city of Hannover in Northern Germany. The area newspaper came to interview me about my experiences in Europe and to ask about my impressions of Germany.
